Route A, Thetis Lake, rated 2B – The 10km route takes walkers on the Millstream Creek Trail, the scenic Upper and Lower Thetis Lake Trails, and on streets of Langford. The lush forests of Thetis Lake feature many Garry Oak and Douglas Fir trees. This regional park was established as Canada’s first nature sanctuary in 1958. The lake was likely named for the frigate HMS Thetis assigned to Esquimalt as part of the Royal Navy’s Pacific Squadron.
Route C, Florence Lake, rated 2B – The 6km route takes walkers on the Millstream Creek Trail, the Ashley Trail, through Lake Ida-Anne Park, partially around Florence Lake and on streets of Langford.
