Between 2009 and 2023, provincial public health units have reported 19,983 human cases of Lyme disease across Canada. (Source: www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/lyme-disease/surveillance-lyme-disease.html). Vancouver Island is a prolific region for ticks. And most cases of Lyme Disease go undetected, however the health impact on the individual does not. Funding for Life is driven to bring change, relief and healing from Lyme Disease. On Sept 14 we will be hosting a fun and informative event to educate and empower people living with Lyme Disease and people affected by Lyme Disease. As a Vancouver Island resident, learning about Lyme Disease will also benefit you as preventative care. We will have hot dogs, music, silent auctions items and a door prize as we celebrate the launch of our newsletter!!
