Victoria, BC July 8, 2024 – The Victoria Pickleball Centre is excited to announce the launch of its new “Learn to Play Pickleball” programs, designed to introduce beginners of all ages to the fastest-growing sport in North America. These programs will provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to pickleball, teaching the fundamentals, rules, and strategies in a fun and supportive environment.
What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is a dynamic and social sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Played on a smaller court with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes, pickleball is easy to learn, making it accessible for people of all ages and skill levels. Its popularity has surged in recent years, and the Victoria Pickleball Centre is at the forefront of this exciting movement.
Program Details
The “Learn to Play Pickleball” programs will be offered in a series of 4 to 8-week sessions, each consisting of weekly classes. These classes will cover the basics of pickleball, including:
- Proper grip and paddle techniques
- Basic strokes and serves
- Court positioning and movement
- Scoring and game rules
- Strategies for singles and doubles play
Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in friendly matches and drills to practice their skills in a real-game setting. All equipment will be provided, and no prior experience is necessary.
